A Higher Education Wales spokesperson said:
“Following the ‘no’ vote in yesterday’s Scottish referendum, it is likely that the political parties in Wales and across the UK will begin negotiations on a new devolution settlement. Higher Education Wales will consult with Wales’ universities to discuss the implications of further devolution, and what changes are in the best interests of universities, students and government across all the UK nations. The vast majority of education decisions are already made in Wales, but it is likely further devolution will significantly impact on Wales.
Higher Education Wales looks forward to working constructively with government, students and sector organisations to ensure any new devolution settlement positions Wales’ universities well for the future”.
