Consultation – Revisions to part time undergraduate fee waiver scheme

The Higher Education Funding Council for Wales (HEFCW) is consulting on proposed revisions to its part time undergraduate fee waiver scheme. The proposed revisions relate to the eligibility of potential students in light of new funding arrangements for part time study from Welsh Government. The consultation closes 6 June 2014.

Event – Oxbridge Ambassador Report Launch

The Welsh Government is launching a new report which explores the issues surrounding the decline in numbers of Welsh entrants to Oxford and Cambridge Universities. The event is taking place on 18 June 2014 at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff from 09.30-11.30. The report will recommend a number of actions and will be presented to the Minister for Education and Skills and the Deputy Minister for Skills and Technology, by the Oxbridge Ambassador for Wales, Paul Murphy MP. Event – Wise Wales ‘Partnership for Wales’ conference

The National Union of Students Wales (NUSW) has now opened bookings for the Partnership for Wales conference on 2 June 2014. The event will provide delegates with an opportunity to discuss and debate how the concept of partnership between students, students’ unions and universities can be brought to life. Attendees will take away practical and sustainable applications that can be used to transform partnership into something real with lasting impact in Wales. It has been confirmed that Joni Alexander ( will be the new NUSW Director from 19 May 2014, with a permanent position being recruited for later down the line. Joni is currently NUSW’s Communication and Strategy Manager.
