Statement on A-Level Results Day

Commenting on A-Level results day, a spokesperson for Universities Wales, said:

“Congratulations to all the students who collected their results today and are now looking forward to their next steps, which for many will include studying at university. It’s great to see that so many young people in Wales continue to value the benefits of university, with the proportion of 18-year-olds in Wales applying to study at university at record levels.

“For those who did not get the results they had hoped, or are still undecided, there are many options in Wales available to students through clearing. Universities throughout Wales are providing places through clearing and have advisors waiting to advise on students on the options available to them.

“Welsh universities have, for the second year running, the highest student satisfaction in the UK according to the 2019 National Student Survey. Choosing to study in Wales means students will get the choice of our universities’ excellent courses that are respected by employers and academics worldwide.”
