In response to today’s statement from the Minister for Education, Kirsty Williams AM, to not proceed with the summer exam series and award grades drawing on a range of information, a Universities Wales spokesperson said:
“We welcome the urgency and seriousness with which the Welsh Government has approached this important decision on examinations. We recognise that this is a decision that will not have been taken lightly.
“These are unprecedented times, and the impact of covid-19 will be felt in many ways by many people across Wales. Following this decision, Welsh universities will seek to provide certainty and clarity to young people in Wales wishing to start courses this Autumn.”
