Event: Campus communications challenges – managing in the age of Brexit and social media

This event on Friday 25 November is UCEA’s annual conference which brings together the sector’s HR and communications specialists to examine shared communications challenges surrounding sector-specific issues.

This year’s conference takes place against a background of ongoing change. From an HR perspective these range from changes to pensions contributions and benefits to pay, reward and employment issues whilst from a wider perspective UK HE institutions face further uncertainty relating to Brexit. Against this backdrop employers are faced with new challenges from staff, students and stakeholders using social media platforms to express their views of employment matters.

The conference will be chaired by Professor Nick Petford, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Northampton and Chair of UCEA’s Communications Strategy Working Group.

Study in Wales, the Welsh Government’s external facing portal, is currently running a #StudyinWales2017 campaign. The aim is to help influence prospective international students, their parents and advisers to consider Wales as a study destination. The campaign is running from 10 – 28 October 2016 to tie in with the UCAS application window for 2017. We would love all universities and partners to engage with this campaign and would encourage all colleagues to get involved via social media!
