To celebrate Universities Week and some of the ground-breaking research work undertaken at Welsh universities, Higher Education Wales is to feature a case study from each of our universities over the coming week to highlight the impact they’re having through creating Ideas for Life.
The following case study is from University of Wales Trinity Saint David.
Innovative iPad case for brain-Injured children
Academics at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David have developed a protective iPad case suitable for use by children with neurological conditions. The Cerebra Innovation Centre is a collaborative project between the Cerebra charity and the University, with a team of product design academics, graduates and students, who design and produce innovative bespoke solutions for brain-injured children by using the institution’s cutting edge facilities.
Their mission is to develop high-quality products that help the children and increase social inclusion, through intelligent and well-styled design. Income generated from the sale of CIC products is fed back to support future developments.
